APPLYING FOR RECEPTION YEAR
APPLICATIONS FOR SEPTEMBER 2027 CAN BE MADE BETWEEN 1 SEPTEMBER 2026 AND 15 JANUARY 2027, IF YOU WISH TO MAKE AN APPLICATION AFTER THIS DATE PLEASE CONTACT KIRKLEES SCHOOL ADMISSIONS. PARENTS WILL BE NOTIFIED OF THEIR OFFER ON 16TH APRIL 2027.
You may register your child for a place at school when your child turns 3. Registration for a Reception Year place is done online through the Parent Portal on the Kirklees Council Website. You can apply online by clicking here and view the appeals timetable by clicking here.
OPEN EVENING EVENT
Our open evening for September 2027 entry will take place on Tuesday 29th September at 4-6:30pm. If you are unable to make the event, please contact the school office to book in a visit to see who we are and what Shelley First School has to offer.
APPLYING FOR AN IN YEAR ADMISSION
You may apply for a place at our school at any time during the year. You can complete an In-Year Common Admissions (ICAF) form here. The headteacher will notify you by letter if a place can or cannot be offered for your child(ren).
If you have any questions about registration or the outcome of a request please contact Mrs McLoughlin. You have the right of appeal against the decision not to allocate your son/daughter a place at our school. If you wish to appeal for a place, please contact our office.
MOVING UP TO MIDDLE SCHOOL
TO APPLY FOR A PLACE AT MIDDLE SCHOOL IN SEPTEMBER 2027 YOU MUST APPLY BY 15 JANUARY 2027, IF YOU WISH TO MAKE AN APPLICATION AFTER THIS DATE PLEASE CONTACT KIRKLEES SCHOOL ADMISSIONS. PARENTS WILL BE NOTIFIED OF THEIR OFFER ON 16TH APRIL 2027.
During the Autumn Term, Year 5 children will receive a guidance booklet from Kirklees School Admissions. You can apply for Middle School when your child is in Year 5 and between 1st September and 15th January. To apply online click here.
